I cannot debug an asp.net application using xsp4 or ngingx. The official website says: MONO_OPTIONS=--debug xsp4 --verbose . And theoretically, debugging is enabled, except that I do not receive any error information. Calling the route leads to the error message “error message” and nothing else, while the console I started with xsp4 says nothing. Could not find a way to debug debugging information.
Some older posts assume that the lack of console output is normal, but that the error on the web page should be more detailed: http://lists.ximian.com/pipermail/mono-list/2005-July/027717.html , The solution suggested there, asp.net tracking does not seem to give me an exception for debugging. Tested on Windows. I also tried with mono-fastcgi-server4 and nginx. The answer to stackoverflow says that debugging is done as follows: export MONO_OPTIONS="--debug" fastcgi-mono-server-4 /applications="/:/srv/www/htdocs/mywebapp" /socket=tcp:127.0.0.1:9000 . This is done, but there is no debug output. Not in the console, nor in the log of the mono-fastcgi server, nor nginx, nor on the actual page.
Now for versions:
