How to properly click JSQMessagesViewController

Question

I have a Swift project and am trying to use the JSQMessagesViewController inside it. I used cocoapods to install the framework and import it using the quick import statement.

import JSQMessagesViewController 

There are no errors up to this point, and everything compiles without warning. However, when I try to push a new instance to the navigation controller, the application crashes.

The second line of the method causes a failure and an error message.

JSQMessagesViewController have two parameters: senderId and senderDisplayName . Therefore, you must set your senderId and display name.

In your current controller, which is inherited by JSQMessagesViewController

you need to do a couple of things, first of all, add a tuning function

 func setup() { self.senderId = "1234" self.senderDisplayName = "TEST" } 

and the latter calls this function from

 override func viewDidLoad() { super.viewDidLoad() // Do any additional setup after loading the view, typically from a nib. self.setup() }
