Android QuickContactBadge with letters like Android Lollipop

Question

I have a contact list, and I want to show the first letter of his name in each QuickContactBadge contact. Can I create images at runtime?

This is similar to Android Lollipop, where contacts and dialer uses QuickContactBadge with letters:

I use the function to create these images.

I pass the contact name to the following getMaterialColor function to select a color.
