Amazon SES Notifications (SNS) not working

I'm still in the sandbox from SAS Amazons trying to install a bounce email handler.

I am using a mailbox simulator to test a denial / complaint message.

I created an SNS theme (and I signed up to receive notifications from this topic): enter image description here

I selected this section to receive email rejection notifications, and then turned off email notifications:

However, when I send emails to bounce@simulator.amazonses.com from SES, I still receive an e-mail rollback, and there are no updates to the SNS subject.

The configurations of not receiving "feedback by e-mail" and sending "Failures" messages in the SNS theme were installed on my example.com Domain .

In my verified emails , I had@example.com myself, and I sent emails with it.

It happens that my verified email also had these configurations, so when I installed them the way they were in my domain, everything began to work.

If I tried to send emails using somethingelse@example.com , this would work.

I will try to make this problem clearer with some screenshots.

This can happen outside the sandbox.

I did not understand that the Amazon SAS console can set the SNS denial / complaint topic for the domain , as well as a separate SNS parameter for each confirmed email address ,

Thus, each verified email address can have its own SNS bounce / complaint topic if you want! If you want all of them to be the same, you have to go and install them on the console: tell each of them to use SNS, otherwise they have "Email Feedback Forwarding" set to "enabled", and this will override the setting at the domain level.

Email Feedback Forwarding and SES Notifications via Amazon SNS are exposed as two separate mechanisms. Related documentation describes this:

You must receive rejection and complaint notices by email or through Amazon SNS . The default method is email, via the email address function.

Since you have shown that email feedback redirection is disabled, you probably still receive rejection notifications through your verified SNS email subscription.

To test, try deleting your email subscription from the SNS topic, and then resubmit the bounce simulator email. For further testing, you can subscribe to a different email address or even the SQS queue to make sure that rejection notices are still published.
