(http) web request provider in coreclr / dnxCore?

Question

Is there an available provider for doing web requests / basic GET downloads in coreclr ? ( .net core )

Both System.Net.Webclient and HttpWebRequest/HttpWebResponse not available, I understand that it is aimed at serving content, not consumption, but basic line loading seems to be something that really should have been turned on?

Am I forgetting something, or is it just not possible?

I can use full dnx by default, but most likely I would not lose cross-platform compatibility.

You must use the modern HttpClient class from System.Net.Http in NuGet that supports DNXCore.
