How to quickly scroll through the output of git commands?

I need to show my commits using git show c36432 . Files are very large, and sometimes it takes a long time to go line by line.

What can I do to move quickly, for example, page by page? I use iterm as a terminal on Mac OS X.

Press spacebar. By default, git uses the less pager to display long output, and the space moves down the page at a time to less .

Other less keyboard shortcuts also work, such as typing / , followed by the word you want to find, which may be convenient when searching in git diff or the log.
