I am testing my application on Nexus 7 and Samsung Galaxy S4 and I am going to test the behavior on Galaxy S2. I installed AVG AntiVirus (free version) from the Play Store - the tablet version (Nexus 7) and the mobile version on S4.
On my S4 AVG it is reported that my application is detected as malware, but on the tablet it is recognized as “safe”. After some research, I found that this XML Parser runs the AV Alert SO thread. I use AsyncTask to connect to a device via Bluetooth - showing Snackbar while it searches for new devices. I use permissions for BLUETOOTH and BLUETOOTH_ADMIN.
To check and test this problem using AVG mobile, I downloaded BluetoothChat from the sample in Android Studio and installed it on my S4 - with the same result, it was detected as malware. So is it a problem of AVG mobile AntiVirus or because I installed it from Android studio? When I click "info", it opens the avgthreatlabs.com website in the browser, which says that the package com.example.android.bluetoothchat has active adware, the same thing happens with my application. I do not use any ads.
Does anyone know a workaround, or what went wrong? I do not want my application users to be confused by this problem.
I did not find a suitable link or feedback link on the AVG website. Should I just contact Technical Support?
edit: I found "false report detection" on the AVG website, now I am reporting an example of BluetoothChat. :)
Sorry for my written errors, or if the question is not suitable for stackoverflow.
