TextMate is frozen trying to open a large file

I tried to open a large javascript file using TextMate and now it is frozen. I tried closing and reopening TextMate, but it continues to freeze due to a recently opened file. Is there a way to reset / clear recently opened files in TextMate?

If you open TextMate from Finder by double-clicking and , you get this dialog:

Disable Session Dialog

"Disable" will do exactly what you want, "Recover Documents" will continue to restore them.

Try setting this parameter :

defaults write com.macromates.textmate OakDisableSessionRestore 1
