R: do not write log file for VennDiagram

I use R (version 3.1.2) and the VennDiagram package (version 1.6.16).

Since the last update, the VennDiagram package creates a log file with the name VennDiagramDATE_TIME.log (with DATE and TIME - the date and time it was created) in the current working directory.

How can I suppress this log file? Or delete it as soon as the diagram is completed? I did not find anything in this guide ...

As Ed Hagen already mentioned, VennDiagram uses the use of the futile.logger package. You can suppress registration messages below the ERROR severity level by setting a threshold to the appropriate registrar. In your case:

 futile.logger::flog.threshold(futile.logger::ERROR, name = "VennDiagramLogger") venn.diagram(...)

gotta do the trick.

For more information on using futile.logger, see http://www.r-bloggers.com/better-logging-in-r-aka-futile-logger-1-3-0-released/ .

VennDiagram uses the futile.logger package. To suppress logging, try:

 flog.threshold(ERROR)
