Nuget package management in VS 2015 gray

I want to use Nuget to download the VS 2015 package for the Node.js project, however it is grayed out as shown below:

How to solve it?

This happened to me when I ran something in debug mode. Make sure that you are not debugging any part of your solution, otherwise VS will not allow you to do anything with nuget packages.

The same thing happened to me in VS2015. Just uninstall your solution and restart Visual Studio. It will work. So far, VS 2015 shows many challenges. We hope for better updates.

It looks like you should have a project that supports nuget, or all nuget options will be grayed out. I have two solutions that I bounce between ... one only has a SQL Server project and the nuget options are disabled. There are all kinds of things in another solution, and nuget stuff is included. To be sure, I added a class library to the SQL Server solution, and, of course, nuget highlighted.

Just to expand the community. This happened to me during the Rebuild process (debug mode), I had too many projects (inherited project) in one solution (VS 2019), when I came across Rebuild Solution, it took a lot of time, and I didn’t do it. after the build was completed, the Nuget Package Management menu was turned on as always.

If you need to manage Nuget packages just before building the project, all you have to do is stop building, etc. Your intended menu item is again available.

I just came across the same thing. For me, the solution has not yet been saved. The solution for me was to first save the solution, and then an option was available.
