Used a VMware workstation for a while. The other day, I still received this message, trying to start my Windows7 virtual machine:
Unrecoverable VMware Workstation error: (svga) Unexpected signal: 11. Log file is available in "/vmware/Windows7x64/vmware.log".
You can request support.
To collect data for VMware support, select Support Gather Data from the Help menu. You can also run the "vm-support" script in the workstation folder. We will respond based on your support.
I noted that .lck files were created in my VM folder. When you delete them, I can start the virtual machine, but it will take me 13 days, November 3, where the code is missing.
Possible reasons for this is that I accessed the virtual machine both locally and remotely, which could cause concurrency problems and thereby create .lck fies. Sometimes, when I try to open a Windows virtual machine, I also get the following:
Failed to lock file. Cannot open drive '/vmware/Windows7x64/Windows7x64-000001.vmdk' or one of the snapshot drives it depends on. The "Disk" module was not enabled. Failed to start the virtual machine.
In another note, I also decided to resolve this by updating the latest version. When I try to do this as part of the program, I still get:
Failed to update software component. Please try again later and if the problem persists, contact VMware Support or your administrator system
Please help me. I do not want to repeat 13 days of work. (No, unfortunately, I do not have a backup copy of the files).
