I am using jPlayer 2.7.1 ( https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jplayer/2.7.1/jquery.jplayer/jquery.jplayer.min.js ) on my website to play audio tracks for users. Sound tracks come from the S3 bucket. Recently, some users who access the website through the Android WebView, which uses Chrome 30, 44, 45, have problems playing audio files.
A common complaint, apparently, is a kind of track that starts to play, and then at some point it gets stuck, skips or falls behind the remaining sound. Some specific quotes from users:
"after a few minutes, the sound stops and repeats on the same word as this, as it were, lag."
"when I press the play button, the recording is played in the second fragments (it seems like it loads very slowly), it’s very fragmented. The timeline also does not progress, it just remains at 0:00 or sometimes to 0:01 and back again, despite that it plays later parts of the recording. "
"the sound plays for a few seconds, stops, skips a lot of content, plays for another second or two, stops, skips, etc."
"If it starts, it continues to cut / crackle the sound and the time does not start counting."
Unfortunately, I could not recreate the problem myself.
Do you think this could be the cause of this problem? Can switching to jPlayer 2.9.2 fix the problem?
