Visual Studio 2015 Update 1 Not Displaying Current Git Branch

I have two computers, both have Visual Studio 2015 installed. Both Visual Studio have update 1 installed ...

At the moment when I upgrade Visual Studio to version 1, I notice that in the lower right corner of the Visual Studio status bar there is a good indicator of the status of the Git branch:

1st computer

1st computer

However, on my other computer there is no such status, both work with the same version of visual studio ... I spent an hour scratching my head, trying to get the status to appear.

Second computer

2nd computer

How do I get the git status bar?

I solved this by "repairing" my Visual Studio installation ... I think it still installs everything ..

Make sure the following check box is selected when installing VS:

In the second case, it is possible that you were not connected to the git repository. The visibility of the branch switch depends on the presence of an active repository, so if you disconnected it from the repository in Team Explorer in the second instance, it will not be displayed.

If you find that you are connected to the git repository in TE and the switch does not appear, report this problem using the "Send Feedback" button in the upper right corner of Visual Studio.

Hope you found this new status and switch useful!
