Gralew going wrong with Travis-CI

Question

I'm trying to get a private assembly to behave on Travis-Ci Pro, but it continues to complain because ./gradlew assemble fails. Here is the full log:

I'm not sure what to do. I followed the gradle installation for the project in the Travis documentation and it should work fine ... Here is my travis configuration file

 language: java jdk: - oraclejdk8 - oraclejdk7 - openjdk7 before_script: - chmod a+x gradlew sccript: ./gradlew build 

If I create locally through IntelliJ IDEA or as follows:

• gradle build
• chmod a+x gradlew && ./gradlew build

works flawlessly. Any clues?

For those who passed my problem, was in my .gitignore file. I inadvertently added this entry:

 gradle/ 

What caused gradle/wrapper/gradle-wrapper.jar not included in my repo. Removing this entry in the .gitignore file and making changes to the repo fixed the problem.

In fact, there should be not only gradle/wrapper/gradle-wrapper.jar , but also must have -x permission. Therefore, if you have already done this, but it does not have -x , you must do the following:

• chmod +x gradle/wrapper/gradle-wrapper.jar
• git add -f gradle/wrapper/gradle-wrapper.jar

If you do not want to add the .jar file to your repository, you can install wrapper before your build runs in travi-ci:

 install: gradle wrapper --gradle-version 4.2 language: java jdk: - oraclejdk8

In my case, I had gradle-wrapper.jar in the repository, but it still gave me: Error: Could not find or load main class org.gradle.wrapper.GradleWrapperMain

It turned out that due to the fact that I forced LF line endings in my .gitattributes gradle-wrapper.jar file was corrupted during commit.

To fix this, do the following:

1. In .gitattributes add the following line *.jar binary
2. Delete Gradle Shell Files: rm -rf gradle/gradlew gradlew.bat
3. Re-create the wrapper: gradle wrapper --gradle-version=5.1.1 --distribution-type=all
4. Pass and click :)

jdk: openjdk8 instead of oraceljdk8 in .travis file

You can check the difference between oracle JDK and Open Jdk. This should not matter, since both are licensed one from the oracle and one from the open GNU PL, but if you want a specific difference, you can visit - https://www.baeldung.com/oracle-jdk-vs-openjdk
