Why does LabVIEW let me enter characters (Key down) in a numeric control?

When I press Enter , it will clear all characters and return to 0.

My question is: why does it allow only certain characters (not all)?

This is done for the convenience of the user.

So, to enter 5000, you can enter 5k, or to enter 0.000005 you can enter 5u.

LabVIEW allows you to enter text and then check it after pressing the enter button.
