How to determine if I am in powershell or cmd?

I played with OpenSSH on Windows and it looks like the usual Unix aliases are missing. I'm not sure if it launches powershell or cmd. What is the correct way to see the current working shell on Windows?

All loans relate to PetSerAl , this should be published as an obverse:

(dir 2>&1 *`|echo CMD);&<# rem #>echo PowerShell

Inside Win32-OpenSSH this command also works and outputs CMD .

NB: Win32-OpenSSH seems a bit limited, cd not recognized on my system.
